Balayage is the art of creating a natural color gradient. At Coiffeur Création Kaiser in Biel/Bienne, we apply each strand by hand—for a sun-kissed, soft look that grows with your hair and shows hardly any roots. Since 1967—now in our fourth generation—we’ve been combining traditional craftsmanship with modern coloring techniques. Whether you’re looking for a soft blonde, a warm brown, or subtle highlights, we’ll provide personalized advice and select the shade that best suits your style and hair texture.
What is balayage?
Balayage comes from the French and means “to sweep.” The color is applied freehand, without foils—this creates soft transitions without harsh edges. The result looks natural, the roots grow out inconspicuously, and you’ll need to touch up your color less often.
Balayage, streaks, or highlights?
Not every technique works for every hair type. During a brief consultation, we’ll
work together to figure out what suits your look.

WE ARE SWISS CHAMPIONS
Mélanie’s father, Fredy Kaiser, laid the foundation for actively winning prizes with the Swiss national team. His passion for the craft was there from the very start and continues to be passed down from generation to generation.
Mélanie Kaiser has won numerous prizes and became Swiss champion. Her son, Kieran Kaiser, has also trained with the Swiss national team and works diligently toward the same success. We’re also continually training to stay on top of current trends and master the latest coloring and cutting techniques. This is how we stay true to our family tradition and remain the leading hairdresser in Biel.
Frequently Asked Questions About Balayage
How long does a balayage last?
Balayage grows out very naturally and usually lasts 3–4 months before needing a touch-up – significantly longer than a traditional hair color treatment.
How much does balayage cost in Biel?
The price depends on hair length, natural hair color, and the desired result. You will receive a transparent quote before the treatment.
Balayage or highlights – what’s the difference?
Highlights are usually applied using foil and look more even; balayage is applied freehand and creates a softer, more natural gradient.
Does balayage damage the hair?
When done professionally and with the right care – such as Olaplex – your hair stays protected. We always tailor the lightening process to your hair’s texture.
